Computer supply for the project “Bridging the digital divide for socially vulnerable groups and educational institutions”
On October 20, BIT closed the first phase of a project led by the Ministry of Education and Science, “bridging the digital divide for socially vulnerable groups and educational institutions,” which aims to provide every pupil with a Chromebook computer for the learning process.
As of September, the Ministry of Education and Science started delivery of 35,791 Chromebook computers to municipalities across Latvia. This supply of computers to schools was divided into three phases and Baltic information technologies were responsible for the first phase, supplying 23,488 Acer Chromebook 511 computers. Lightweight and durability are the biggest benefits of this model, which is crucial because students in grades 1-6 will receive these computers. As well as following digitization trends, the monitor is touchy-sensitive.
The computers were delivered to 141 schools in total, 97 of which are located in or around Riga.
In order not to reduce the speed of learning the new computers, BIT provides Google for Education Educator level 1 seminars, online seminars have been concluded, but there is still an opportunity to apply to your educational institution or local government for our specialists to take this course to you.
